My First Painting

Gallery MInsadong, Seoul, South Korea

A year-long personal documentation practice across 16 locations between California and Seoul, capturing excitement and curiosity about unfamiliar places alongside fear and loneliness.

I doodled, painted, and documented bit by bit everyday in 16 different places throughout the year of 2022. Going back and forth between California and Seoul, I recorded my moments of excitement and curiosity about the unknown and also fear and loneliness in a strange land. It's a diary of my gratitude and love.
